In a way the Pre-Birth Certificate helps unwed mothers, because it motivates the man to stay with the child.
If this is made to protect the man from unwanted children it’s sort of a mute point because the couple is made to sign paternity papers at birth as it is. The male actually doesn’t have to sign at all. In fact he can deny paternity. What’s more… even if paternity is proven child support doesn’t have to be paid at all. All the man has to do is deny all rights to the child and he’s free of all responsibility. That’s not a highly advertised legal fact. I suppose if it were you’d see many more men running around saying “wee! I’ll just come in this bitch and there won’t be any financial consequences. wee!”

But let’s take a hypothetical and all too common scenario and see how this law works. What if a woman lets say is beaten by the father of the child and needs to pull herself and her kid out of a way dangerous situation. The Dude doesn’t have to pay anymore? Perhaps you have a hypothetical clause for that. ;)

And, if no Pre-Birth was signed… then the woman wouldn’t have to let man have any rights. Dude wouldn’t even have to see the kid! Oh but then wait… then you would have some broken hearted little kid out there who can’t see his Dad anymore. I donno…

Yeah this is perfect. Considering the present poverty level at least 40% of children would be put into foster care (temporary adoption) which would potentially cost us way way more (did you know that foster parents are paid by the government/us?) on our checks each week. No thought at all was given here to the child’s welfare. Kids aren’t objects to be sold or bought, they don’t understand money, and they’re resistant to things like poverty. What they do understand is love. That’s a good thing to understand and something adults easily forget. Loss of love in a child would result in even more social chaos. More disturbed adults who have grown up lacking the one thing no human can live without and taking it out on everyone else as a result.

This should cut down on you fly-by-night post-teen women who think it’s a-okay to just pop out kids and tax the rest of us because you think it’s your right. Sorry, having children is a privilege, NOT A RIGHT.

It seems to me that you’re blaming a specific individual here. The fact is… teenage girls and boys… fuck. The problem here is that teenagers are stupid. They are stupid and hormonal. Not allowing said stupid teenagers to go on welfare could potentially be even more costly. Poverty is devastating on so many levels. It creates an environment of desperation and anger and hopelessness. That’s a baaaad combination, especially in teens. You’ll have even more people filing into prisons because they were desperate enough to do something crazy. Maybe they decided to rip off a liquor store, or maybe they got so angry at being repressed that they went postal at McDonald’s or maybe they killed their whole family because they rather their loved ones die quickly than slowly from starvation. Or maybe none of those things happen; maybe… maybe instead the part of human spirit that resides in hope becomes lost.

The mother can already do this.
The problem isn’t the laws. It’s the people behind them. It’s stupidity. It’s fear of sex, fear of confrontation. Fear of loss and loss of love. Those are the things that keep our taxes hiking. No law will fix it. The only thing that will fix it requires more work and more thought than people are willing to give on the whole.

If you want women to stop trapping men with babies… All people must begin teaching woman to have respect for the feelings and rights of their male counterparts. And more parents and role models need to stop abandoning sex as a topic of open discussion for teens and pre-teens.
We also need to stop creating superiority competitions between male and females with our children. It’s bullshit all of it. It creates minds that think in terms of “us” and “them”. It’s as though when we’re put on teams as children we never quite grew out of it.
If you want to stop teenagers from raising our taxes, talk about sex early on. Both sexes should learn the consequences of sex.
