Whether they agree or disagree, no one can say you aren't an amazing individual for being able to be so honest about your beliefs. Rage on!

here's something scary that sorta relates to this political rant. my friend is going to london and has never had a passport before. included in his application materials is a form he has to fill out. the form asks his political affilation, and only lists two choices: democrat, and republican. i guess the other parties in this multi party system aren't worth mentioning? also, the form asks him to name all the presidents he's ever voted for, and WHY. talk about frightening.

btw i would just like to give a warm welcome to three of our newest members of congress now that the election is over:

Tom Coburn, the new senator from Oklahoma, who has advocated the death penalty for doctors who perform abortions and warned that "the gay agenda" would undermine the country. He also characterized his race as a choice between "good and evil" and said he had heard there was "rampant lesbianism" in Oklahoma schools.

Jim DeMint, the new senator from South Carolina, who said during his campaign that he supported a state G.O.P. platform plank banning gays from teaching in public schools. He explained, "I would have given the same answer when asked if a single woman who was pregnant and living with her boyfriend should be hired to teach my third-grade children."

John Thune, who toppled Tom Daschle, is an anti-abortion Christian conservative - or "servant leader," as he was hailed in a campaign ad - who supports constitutional amendments banning flag burning and gay marriage.

there is a chinese saying that is both a curse and a blessing: may you live in interesting times...
