Song of the Week.

I’m gonna try to do a "Song of the Week" thing on here. I doubt I’ll actually keep up with it, but I’m gonna try.

I’ve been getting so much music lately that it’s pretty rare I even get the chance to listen to much of it. So, a lot of songs slip through the cracks and then show up while I’m rockin’ the random-play on iTunes. That being the case, occasionally a song catches my ear and I go "wait, wtf is this? this is great!" and I’ll dig on the track for a bit. If this song holds a special feeling to me, or maybe just a really good beat, I’ll use it throughout the week whenever I need to calm down or relax. That song becomes my "song of the week". I know I’m not the only one who does this.

Yesterday, I was feeling particularly stressed for a number of reasons which I won’t go into right now. But the point is that I needed to relax. So I put on this song of the week and I felt better. The intro alone gets me groovin’ (mentally, that is; I don’t normally dance around and sing while I’m sitting in my chair at work).

The song is "Water" from OhGr’s solo album "Welt". For those of you that don’t know, OhGr is Skinny Puppy’s lead singer. So it’s similar in style to the Puppy, but not as dark. The vocals, obviously, are much the same as you’d hear on any Puppy album, as are the lyrics. But oddly enough, it seems his solo stuff is a lot more dance-like, accessible, and lighter.

If you’d like to give this song a listen, I’ve put it on my server here:

Next week.. I will probably be launching my long-awaited (to me, and like 2 other people) REVMITCZ.COM v2.0 site. Watch out now.. there’s gonna be more pictures of me on there than you’ve patience for looking at >:)

Diggin' my shit? Well then..
