Got my tickets for my next “big” show. It’s next Friday – Sept 19th at Aura Nightclub. If you want one of these tickets (and you don’t need one, since you can just pay at the door) just find me before the show and i’ll be happy to sell one off to you.
If you’ve been looking to see me throw down a funny bomb – this is the gig to hit. Though I have a gig on the Main Stage at The Comedy Store tomorrow night (Sept 12th), I’m not sure I feel good about telling people to spend all that cash to see me for 6 minutes. To give you an idea – it’s a $15 cover, with a 2 drink minimum PLUS you’ll have to pay for parking. In my experience, that ranges from $10-$20 per car. If you’re going alone, you could be spending upwards of $50 just to walk into the joint. That’s hardly fair. Yes, there will be other comedians on the bill and yes, it’ll be good for my career to get people out to that gig, but I’ve never given a shit about that. I want you all to have a good time and I can definitely relate to not wanting to blow your wad (of cash) just to have a good night out, I can’t in all good conscience recommend the TCS gig.
I can, however, recommend this Aura gig. It’ll only be $10 for a cover, there’s only a ONE drink minimum and parking is FREE. Plus, I could be rockin’ a 15-minute gig that night. So, you’ll see quite a bit of me. Not to mention the other comics. You’d also be helping me out a lot because I’m performing as part of the “Rebels of Comedy” group. This means I can get follow-up gigs throughout the greater LA area if I show that I can pull a crowd.
So, if you can make it out – you should. It’s gonna be a good gig, as I have no less than 3 gigs before then that will prep me for this one. Bring your friends, enemies, lovers and booty-calls. We’ll rock the fuckin’ house.
