It happens but once every few years, at most. I find myself on the receiving end of a spankin’ new Mac. No, not the makeup – the computer. Yesterday was New Mac Day. New 2.0Ghz MacBook Pro Day, in fact.
Here’s a short list of things that make me giddy (from least giddy to most giddy) :
Seeing new boobs
Caressing and/or smacking firm woman-ass
Seeing new vagina
New Hardware
Good “First-Time” sex.
Threesomes
Performing a good stand-up comedy routine
New Mac Day
Being heralded as a king of comedy
(okay, so that last one has never happened, but let a guy dream)
A Geek and His Money Are Soon Parted
categories : Featured, Geek Stuff, Random Musings | View CommentsLemme just get this out to those of you who may be unaware. A few little factoids about El Reverend Mitcz :
1. I’m a total hardware geek. If it has lights on it, and/or makes noises – I’ll probably cum.
2. I’m an Apple fanboy. More on this later
3. Whereas some people will make a life choice based on their current situation, and later enhance it via technology – I tend to make life choices based on the cool new hardware I can geek out on and incorporate that tech’s usefulness into my lifestyle as a motivator.
4. Money matters very little to me. I live like a rich kid, but I earn like a middle-class guy. I don’t want to die with money in the bank, because that’s the sign of a life unlived.
5. I’m an unabashed consumer who will readily admit that shopping and buying new things not only relieves my stress, but I operate under the comfort lie of “new things” enriching my life.
IE6 “access is denied” Javascript error – FIXED
categories : Featured, Geek Stuff, Tutorials | View CommentsSpeaking of your weird-ass javascript/IE bugs..
Today, I was working on the beta version of the new MusicPlusTV.com v3.0 site. On the site, I’m using an extensive iframe system to allow full browsing of the site, without ever refreshing/reloading/losing the live stream. Pretty sweet, no?
However, there’s a few issues with that solution, and I’ve since made my own fixes for them. Last night, everything broke and I couldn’t figure out why. I’ll explain what I was doing, and how I fixed it.
So I’ve been meaning to retool this blog site, and of course upgrade to the fancy new WordPress 2.0 engine. I killed two birds with one stone sometime late Friday night (got home too late from my show to really go out and party). I’m still working through a few of the finer design/tech issues, but I’m really diggin’ on all the new features in the combo-punch of WP2 and K2.
Thus far, I’ve got Live Archives, Votes/Ratings on all posts, quick links to most of the popular social bookmarking sites inside each full post, latest comment/post listings on the side, recent tracks played via AudioScrobbler/Last.fm, Live Search, and the ability to do quick …
Another in the line of Mitcz productions, this was a “for hire” project. Meaning it’s not technically my production, just my design and implementation. The idea, and the site’s content, are owned by Bella herself. It’s been a long time a-waiting for this fucker to launch, after so many issues w/billing companies, but we’re all pleased. I want to, however, give you my lengthy write-up about the process, and the making of the site. This is more than just an entry on design. I emphasize that because, as you’ll see, some very interesting things happened while making the site, and it’s probably one of the more “personal” touches I’ve ever put on a site, even my own. So I present the making of…
Since recently acquiring a spankin’ new PowerMac G5, I found myself in the good fortune of having credit cards to buy accompanying toys for the bad monkey. My setup is near-complete now, actually. And, what a setup it is. Join me now, won’t you, while I walk you through my full setup.
Tonight, as I go to bed, I will be saying goodnight (figuratively, cause I don’t hug the thing) to my 5 1/2 year old G4. It’s been a great ride. Without a stretch, anything I’ve done creatively outside of my day-job has been done on this here system. So, before I let it wake me up in the morning for the last time tomorrow, I’m giving a eulogy in a historical manner by listing the various upgrades/changes I’ve done to this machine.
Apparently, Ecto should now be a-okay w/the new WP 1.5.1.3. This means no extraneous line breaks, proper formatting of text without extra weird line breaks and a slew of other things. I know my blog is by no means the “average setup” because I’ve made many personal modifications myself, installing various plugins and what-not to set it up how it is. I gotta say, while I love WP, this was all much easier in MT.
I reached a landmark today. Just now actually. I wrote this entry ahead of time, so I could post it when the event happened because I knew I’d be too busy/excited (and later, too drunk) to write it all out. What’s the big event?
*ahem*
Now, most of you know I work for Vivid. Or, more specifically, that I make their websites. So, why is it such a big deal that I just linked Vivid.com? Because, sirs and madams, that is the default page. Meaning that when you hear Howard Stern talk to the Vivid Girls, when you see a 50ft Vivid billboard in NYC’s Times Square, when you drive down Hollywood Blvd and see all the Vivid ads – the …
Tired of hearing people say things like “My internet is down”, “I got the internet”, “I was downloading the web the other night…” and a host of other phrases that, if they knew better, they’d never use – I have decided to write a little guide to what various internet terms mean, some webspeak, some 1337speak and a variety of other things to better inform those of you in need.
