*phew* Well, That Sucked.

Want to thank everyone, IMMENSELY, for the kind words, the comments, the messages, etc ad nauseum e pluribus unim delicatessan. I also want to apologize for taking time off the show, for not blogging, etc bla bla bla. Truly. It sucks when I have to do that kind of thing.

At any rate, since a few people asked - no it wasn’t like “I have an owwie in my toothie” that made me incapacitated and practically bed-ridden for a few days there. I had Acute Necrotizing Ulcerative Gingivitis (also called “ANUG”, “trenchmouth”, “Vincent’s Angina” and a number of other things). It’s quite painful - imagine that feeling at the roof of your mouth when you accidentally eat something WAY too hot, and it burns the the roof of your mouth and it’s all sore and sensitive for a few hours. Now imagine that feeling 24/7 for about a week, along the roof of your mouth, the outside edge of all your teeth and the inside edge of all your teeth AND you’ve got a sore throat.

I was also recovering from having dry socket in a recently pulled tooth, and I was suffering a “common cold”, and I fucked up in taking too many vicodin and not enough food (cause ya know, eating hurt so I was basically constricted to yogurt and soup) which had its own interesting effects on my stomach that actually got so bad at one point that I had to call a medical friend of mine to inquire about whether or not I should go to the hospital, and/or whether or not I would die if I just “rode out the pain”. Like I said - painful, no fun, lame.

I’m pretty much fully healed now. Still have some weird gum soreness, but by no means major. Pretty much just lingering backlash. And the ANUG ate away a portion of my gums, so I hope that grows back cause my beautiful smile is tainted now and that pisses me off. The important thing is I CAN EAT AGAIN! and that really excites me. In the past 2 weeks, I’ve been living off of yogurt and soup and feeling constantly starved and a few people noticed I was looking rather malnourished. Hopefully that’ll clear up soon as well.

Okay, enough of the grim bullshit. The point is - I’m doing fine now. I’ve got a follow-up dentist appointment tomorrow morning and then I should be pretty much “back to normal”.

That having been said -

Yes, Virginia, there WILL be an Aural Salvation show tonight

..and in fact, all week long. I’m back. I’m feeling good. I’m missing all of you, and missing doing the show. With any luck, we’ll have our new set put together sometime this week (maybe even tonight?) and that’ll be even more badassical.
